Terms of Use

Last updated July 11, 2026

The agreement

These terms are a contract between you and Cadence ("we") covering the Cadence app and this site. By using either, you accept them. If you're using Cadence through the App Store, Apple's standard licensed-application terms apply too.

What Cadence is — and isn't

Cadence is a self-management tool for gradually reducing a habit: it computes taper schedules, paces your day, and records what you log. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and no part of it is a medical device. Reduction targets are arithmetic, not clinical judgment.

For some dependencies — notably heavy alcohol use and benzodiazepines — stopping or cutting down abruptly can be medically dangerous. If that might be you, plan your taper with a clinician and use Cadence only to track the plan you agree on together.

Membership, trial, and billing

Cadence is paid: one membership, offered weekly ($1.99), monthly ($4.99), or yearly ($29.99), each starting with a 3-day free trial. Prices are shown in USD and may vary by region; the App Store shows the exact price before you confirm.

Subscriptions bought in the iPhone app are billed by Apple, auto-renew until cancelled, and can be cancelled anytime in your App Store subscription settings — cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge. Trials convert to paid unless cancelled before the trial ends. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's policies.

Your data, your account

You own what you log. Our Privacy Policy explains what is stored and where. You may delete your account and all its data in-app at any time; deletion is permanent. Keep your credentials to yourself — activity under your account is yours.

Fair use

Don't abuse the service: no attempting to access other users' data, no reverse-engineering the backend, no using the app where prohibited by law. We may suspend accounts that attack the service.

Warranty & liability

Cadence is provided "as is." To the maximum extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is capped at what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes, governing law, contact

We may update these terms; material changes update the date above and take effect prospectively. These terms are governed by the laws of Puerto Rico, USA. Questions: support@getcadence.now.
